Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Junior High Social Studies Teacher
Mrs. Donielle Jarzen is the 8th Grade Social Studies teacher at St. Isaac Jogues. She grew up in Chicago, where she attended Catholic elementary and Catholic high school. Prior to joining the faculty at St. Isaac’s, Mrs. Jarzen worked at St. Francis Xavier School in Lagrange for 19 years (15 years teaching 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies, and 4 years as the Assistant Principal). She also spent one year teaching 7th Grade Social Studies at Roosevelt Middle School in River Forest. Mrs. Jarzen earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts (Political Science) and an M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Illinois. Later, she earned an M.A. in Educational Administration from Dominican University. Mrs. Jarzen holds an Illinois Professional Educator’s License with endorsements in Grades 6-12 Social Sciences, as well as School Administration. Mrs. Jarzen resides in Lemont with her husband, son, and chihuahua Bear. When she is not teaching, she enjoys reading historical fiction, watching hockey and football, and dreaming of her next Disney vacation!
