All Saint Isaac Jogues’ students attend art classes. The goals for the Art Program are to strengthen problem solving skills and critical thinking, to initiate creative solutions within the guidelines of the assignments, to respect others and their artwork, to explore varied art materials, and ultimately to broaden one’s outlook of the world. Kindergarten through fifth are taught Fine Arts and Art History via drawing, painting, pastels, collage, weaving, three-dimensional construction, and the use of technology apps that reinforce Art activities and Art History. In grades sixth through eighth, the base of knowledge in Fine Arts and Art History is enhanced through the introduction of the business-side of art and design, through the use of digital media and technology. Lessons include Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Animation , and Architecture.
Students in Kindergarten through third grade meet once a week throughout the school year. Students in fourth through eighth grades meet once a week for one semester.
